The example Lab SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) that EH&S developed for safely conducting phenol chloroform extractions notes that polyethylene glycol (PEG 300 or PEG 400) is helpful to use in treating any dermal exposures.

Did You Know?

Polyethylene glycol (PEG) 300 or 400 can be applied on affected skin (before flushing with water) to reduce the impact of phenol chloroform burns.
