Construction Support

Construction Support

EH&S provides a range of construction support to our project and facility managers undertaking building, renovation, and demolition projects. This support gives access to staff with the expertise needed for input during the project's planning, design, bidding, and construction activities.

Detailed construction safety, environmental, and regulatory permitting support are provided to ensure the execution of a safe project, proper management of hazardous materials, and timely environmental permitting to ensure cost and schedule impacts are minimized.

Department Update

All projects that could potentially generate dust, regardless of the presence or absence of asbestos, must file a MassDEP permit AQ-06 at least 10 days prior to the start of disturbance. If the project needs an emergency waiver for unexpected asbestos, MassDEP will ask for the AQ-06 permit number.

Did You Know?

Modern building materials may contain asbestos. A hazardous building materials survey should be done in the area of renovation, regardless of the age of the building, to verify the presence or absence of asbestos containing material.
