Occupational Safety

The safety of Harvard personnel working, studying, or living in Harvard's buildings and facilities is the top priority of Environmental Health & Safety. Technical, management, and compliance information on the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and other agencies is provided to ensure for the safety of all University personnel.

Department Update

The Facilities & Life Safety group conducts a series of inspections and assessments. Examples of these include National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) life safety, roof tops and fall protection systems, machine shops, and general building assessments.

Did You Know?

Make sure all machine safe guards are in place at all times so that moving parts are not a danger to you and other workers nearby. If machine safety guards are removed due to maintenance ensure that Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols are closely followed.
